Financial stability fast-tracked my writing career
2017 was the year I became financially stable. I landed a freelance writing contract worth six figures and kept my other freelance gigs. To be clear, when I say financially stable, I mean I was no longer living pay cheque to pay cheque, or for a freelancer, I was no longer worried about going a few months without a payment.
Since that year of obtaining financial stability, let me tell you what has happened:
- Went on my first real vacation (no working while playing)
- Secured an agent
- Earned three publishing deals
- Paid all of my daughter’s college tuition
- Built the CRY community
- Started multiple publishing platforms
This isn’t a brag, I’m just trying to prove a point. Since worrying about money was off the table, my writing career has gone into hyperdrive. I was progressing before the money came, but progress was slow. Once money wasn’t the pressing issue it was before, things changed.
