Keep going at it, Tina. My first paying job was $50 and it took me years before I became self-sufficient as a writer (meaning no other side jobs). It’s really about understanding your strengths as a writer, improving on your weaknesses, then leveraging those skills to add value to the endless number of people/businesses/platforms who are in terrible need of strong writing.

And yes, I totally understand the dancing characters. We writers learn to live with them constantly while our friends indeed think we’ve lost our minds.
