Thanks for your response, Sierra. You’re right to mention that there are different forms of writing, but that speaks to my point. As a writer, you’re just not going to like all of them. You give editing as an example, but what if the writer doesn’t like editing but that’s their most lucrative form of income? Should they give that up so they’re not “settling?” At the end of the day, we all need to make a living. That’s the premise of this piece. But in my experience, making a living off writing will take some compromise.
