This is a good point, Mia, and one that I've heard more than once now. We've also heard of many positive experiences from Black, Asian and white writers. But more than one thing can be true, so there are situations like the one you've described and its unfortunate. There need to be proactive steps, led by professors, to better manage those conversations. And if professors are the problems, how do we change that?
